Israel to extradite 8 men accused of scamming millions from U.S. Seniors. (Snips)

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Wednesday ruled that Israel will extradite to the United States eight Israelis accused of defrauding U.S. senior citizens of $2 million.

The defendants, all in their 20s and 30s, allegedly phoned American pensioners, told them they had won the lottery and asked them for a fee of several thousand dollars for the transfer of the prize money, which in fact never existed.

The ruling will also affect the fate of 11 other Israelis accused of netting tens of millions of dollars from American seniors in a similar scam. ....

A French court on Tuesday sentenced Israeli-Russian mogul Arcadi Gaydamak, who is also a French citizen, to six years in prison for his role in illegal arms deals in the 1990s.

Gaydamak was being tried in the affair alongside another 40 suspects, including ministers, government clerks and other well-known public figures in France. ....
